Guilty Plea in Deadly “Swatting” Case 11-13-18 16:40 DC

You may remember the case of 26-year-old Tyler Barris, a California man who admitted to filing a false report that ultimately led police to fatally shoot a Kansas man. The incident grew out of a dispute between two online gamers over a $1.50 bet on the Call of Duty WWII video game.

If approved by the judge, the deal with federal prosecutors will send Barris to prison for between 20 and 25 years. He could still face charges in California.
