LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTER OFFERS AID/ASSISTANCE TO THOSE IN FIRE ZONES 11/10/11
The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter is prepared to support shelters within the evacuation zone and individual fire victims, by opening our shelter to animals in need of safe, compassionate housing and care.
For animals belonging to residents fleeing the Camp, Woolsey, or Hill fires, our Safekeep Program provides temporary, no cost boarding for those who can not keep their animals with them. The Shelter has already taken in several animals from the area of the scamp Fire,
whose guardians are staying with family or friends in Santa Cruz County.
