The Seaside City Council voted unanimously Thursday night to freeze all city councilmember expenditures effective immediately. And that means taking away city credit cards amid what has become a spending investigation involving Councilmember and Mayoral candidate Kayla Jones.
Jones, whose husband was recently arrested for domestic violence, says her marriage is fine and denies the allegations against her, which also include campaign irregularities.
The council also authorized funding for a forensic audit of councilmembers’ past spending going back to 2015.
