The slate of challengers for three seats on the San Lorenzo Valley Water District board have raised more money than the three incumbents seeking re-election. Much of the money is in the form of campaign loans from the candidates, with the loans by the San Lorenzo Valley challengers far outpacing those made by water board candidates elsewhere in the Santa Cruz.
Challengers Robert Fultz, Lois Henry and Stephen Swan reported $16,221 in contributions as of Sept. 22, had spent $6,937 and had $9,393 cash on hand.
Incumbent Chuck Baughman, Gene Ratcliffe and John Hayes reported $10,598 in contributions, had spent $624 and had $9,974 cash on hand.
