Salinas Gang Members Indicted 10-12-18 05:25 DC
A federal indictment was unsealed yesterday against Monterey County gang members now facing charges in various crimes after a 6-year investigation.
A federal grand jury indicted the Salinas-based members of two gangs, who committed crimes both while in the Monterey County jail and while free.
The charges include racketeering crimes, conspiracy to commit murder, assault in aid of racketeering, attempted murder in aid of racketeering, and assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering.
The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office worked with the FBI on the case against the members of the Nuestra and Norteno gangs.
