Counselors are available at Boronda Meadows Elementary School in Salinas today, there to help students and staff deal with last week’s arrest of a popular second-grade teacher. No charges have been filed against Thane House, who jail officials say was arrested on Wednesday and released on Friday.
Investigators and school officials say House is suspected of “lewd and lascivious acts with a child.” According to a note sent home to parents, police do not think any of the school’s students are involved in any crimes House may have committed.
The school has placed House on administrative leave while the investigation continues.
