A 22-year-old man who had been shot by Watsonville Police has been released from the hospital and will be arraigned tomorrow/Thursday morning (8:15 AM). Police shot Isaiah Aguilar in the stomach after they say he brandished kitchen knives and physically charged Watsonville police.
Aguilar was reportedly flailing his arms, clutching the knives, and sprinting across the busy intersection at Ohlone Parkway and Main Street before he was shot on August 15. Aguilar faces two charges of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm, assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer and resisting arrest by violence. He remains in jail.
