The family of a woman, who died while in police custody in Monterey County, has won an $825,000 settlement. 47 year-old Larra Ann Gillis’ was reportedly arrested by Cal—State Monterey Bay police officers (after she was found walking in and out of traffic in December of 2015). She was found nearly unconscious and covered in feces the next day….and was taken to the hospital…where she was found to be suffering from sepsis, severe dehydration and kidney failure. Gillis never recovered consciousness.
