Blue Whale Sightings-8/19/18-920-PMD

A rising number of blue whale sightings are occurring in the Monterey Bay. The sightings are coming at a time when several whale species visit Central Coast waters in search of krill, a favored food source. Last week there were sightings of a group of 8 blue whales on Wednesday, and then a pod of 12 whales was seen on Thursday. The group sightings are rare for the largest animals on the planet, which grow up to 90 feet long, bcause they usually feed alone or in pairs.
