Three people were arrested Saturday night after Monterey County Sheriff’s deputies found drugs and a homemade shotgun during a traffic stop. The deputy saw a car driving recklessly near Vierra Canyon Road in Prunedale when he pulled over the vehicle. The driver, 28-year-old Manuel Sanchez, was arrested after deputies found a homemade shotgun in his backpack. A 28-year-old passenger Brittany Olivarez was arrested on suspicion of carrying a gun and drug possession. A second passenger, 26-year-old Ashley Gomez, was arrested on drug possession charges. All three were booked into the Monterey County Jail.
