The County of Santa Cruz is facing a lawsuit from residents over its handling of an environmental review of a development at the corner of 41st Avenue and Soquel Drive. A Nissan dealership is slated to be built at the location. But the lawsuit filed by the citizens group Sustainable Soquel alleges the environmental impact report overlooked several areas, including air and noise quality impact and consistency with the county’s general plan. The group believes mixed-use retail and housing would be a better fit for the space.
