Homeless storage 071118 0533 CM

A Santa Cruz nonprofit is helping homeless people with their storage needs. The Warming Center Program is offering to store items for homeless people each morning. Officials at the nonprofit say that by carrying around backpacks and pushing carts, homeless people are quickly identified in public. But with the burden of carrying their belongings lifted, they can quickly blend into a crowd to run errands throughout the day. People can drop off items at a truck near Laurel and Front streets from 7 to 9 a.m. and pick items up from 5 to 7 p.m.
