The Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission approved several proposals at a meeting yesterday (Thurs). The commission approved a new two-phase contract with Progressive Rail to extend existing freight rail service and add a passenger service in the second phase of the contract. Also approved was up to 50 thousand dollars to study the viability of upgrading or replacing the Capitola rail trestle to accommodate both rail and trail.
