A 32 year-old woman was arrested after she led Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies on a chase through the Santa Cruz Mountains on Monday. Samantha Vetter is believed to have broken into a home on the 8-thousand block of Highway 9, before deputies arrived and she fled in a vehicle she stole from the home’s garage. She was later arrested in the Happy Valley area of Santa Cruz, after she went door-to-door there asking for gasoline for her car. Vetter faces a variety of charges that include burglary and vehicle theft, as well as being a felon in possession of a firearm, and carrying a loaded firearm.
