A man, who has been on death row for the 1981 killing of 2 people on the U.C. – Santa Cruz Campus, has died. 81 year-old Royal Hayes, who’s cause of death is being investigated, was convicted of luring the 2 people (separately) to a remote location, and then shooting both people in the back of their head. He then buried their dismembered bodies in shallow graves he had dug beforehand.
