A student housing development project at UC Santa Cruz is seeing pressure to reconsider building on the East Meadow on campus. The mounting pressure comes as the university looks to create more affordable student housing while limiting environmental impacts. University officials are extending the comment period for the project to June 27. Two more public hearings are set for June 6 and 7. Comments can be emailed to EIRcomment@ucsc.edu.
