Watsonville’s City Manager Charles Montoya will leave his job after he announced Monday that he accepted a role to manage the city of Avondale in Arizona.
He is expected to start the job in late July, pending approval from the Avondale City Council. Montoya was hired by the City of Watsonville in 2015 and was under a contract that ran through 2021. City officials have yet to say when a replacement will be found.
