Dorothy’s Drop-In Center May Lose Funding 4/17/18 740a CR

Dorothy’s Drop in Center, in the Salinas Chinatown area, though celebrating thirty seven years of service is at risk of losing the funding for services they offer to the homeless.  Jill Allen, the Dorothy’s Place Executive Director says they serve about nine hundred people through the drop in center every year.  Due to Monterey Counties budget challenges, Dorothy’s funding would be amongst the first to be cut. In 2015 there were more than two hundred fifty people living on the streets of Chinatown in Salinas.   That number is now down to one hundred.  If you, or someone you know is considering being a funding source for Dorothy’s place, please call 831-757-3838
