The annual “Operation Chill” is slated to kick off soon in Monterey. For the 23rd time the Monterey Police Department will be working with a local 7-eleven to dispense slurpees to children and youth who have done good deeds, taken part in constructive activities, and performed acts of kindness. Since “operation chill’s” inception in Philadelphia in 1995, more than 19-million coupons have been distributed. Each coupon can be redeemed for a small slurpee drink at participating 7-eleven stores.
