A Seaside school district spokeswoman said that the school resource officers are the only people authorized to carry firearms on campus. Seaside High School officials are investigating why the teacher, who accidentally fired off a handgun in his classroom yesterday, had the gun at school to begin with….and whether any school official was aware of his intention to bring a handgun into his Administrative Justice class (for his lesson on gun safety). Students at Seaside High School have been gathering signatures to try and get their teacher back into the classroom.
