(09:15) Santa Cruz – Santa Cruz Sheriff, Jim Hart, announced the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office has been selected as a Finalist for the 2018 James Q. Wilson Award for Excellence in Community Policing, presented by the Regional Community Policing Institute of California. The Sheriff’s Office is recognized for implementing a series of initiatives including 21st Century Policing, Crisis Intervention Team, Integrating Communications, Assessment and Tactics, Procedural Justice and Body Worn Cameras, all of which support and contribute to the Importance of Community Policing and Creating Sustainable Initiatives.
