Armed Robbery Arrest          01-22-18              T.A.

(09:00) Salinas – Authorities reported that 3 people were arrested over the weekend for an armed robbery in Salinas.  The armed robbery took place on Saturday just after 4:30 p.m. at a taco truck on the corner of Sun Street and Commission Street.  33 year-old Raymond Cardenas and 30 year-old Jose Velasco demanded money and struck an employee with a handgun on the back of the head.  The 2 were picked up by 24 year-old Virginia Espinoza.  Hours later, Officers located the suspects traveling on North Main Street and Navajo Drive.  Cardenas and Espinoza were arrested and booked into the Monterey County Jail.   Velasco was arrested yesterday just before 8:30 p.m. on North Main Street near Alvin Drive.   All 3 suspects face charges for Armed Robbery, False Imprisonment, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Conspiracy.
