A meeting on the future of the Capitola Mall has been scheduled. Stores located at indoor shopping malls across the country have been failing at a high rate due to the popularity of on-line shopping. The new owner of the mall; Merlone Geier, a San Francisco based developer, is exploring options. Similar projects have included more interactive businesses such as a cineplex, archery range, and other activity based establishments, Housing could also be integrated into the project. A meeting between the developer and city officials will be open to the public at Capitola City Hall on January 24th.
