A popular Monterey beach has been closed. The Environmental Health Bureau closed Del Monte Beach after receiving reports that sewage had entered a storm drain terminating at the beach. The spill estimated at 1500 gallons took place at about 9:a.m.. The beach will remain closed until samples indicate that the water is again safe for human contact.
