A woman, who is believed to have been the driver in a fatal hit-and-run crash last night in Salinas, has turned herself in to Salinas police officers. 36 year-old Sonia Cano was booked into Monterey county jail this morning on charges of Gross Vehicular Manslaughter While Intoxicated, Hit-And-Run Causing Death, Fleeing The Scene Of A Crash, and Driving Without A License. Those charges were in connection with the hit-and-run that took place around 7 p.m. on North Main Street. 52 year-old Alan Ellis suffered fatal injuries in that accident. In the 2nd fatal traffic accident last night, 27 year-old Jay Bradley was pushing his shopping cart across East Laurel Drive around 5:30 p.m. Anyone with information about either fatal incident is encouraged to contact the Salinas Police Department.
