(12:30) Ben Lomond- The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man shot and killed in self defense by his father on Sunday. 30-year-old Richard Oates Jr. died on the scene of his Ben Lomond home after authorities responded to a report of a gun shoot wound at approximately 4:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Ridge Road. The homicide is currently under investigation and no arrests have been made.
