The City of Watsonville is one of 30 jurisdictions that may lose federal police funding. The US Department of Justice recently sent letters stating that the Federal government may cut off certain federal funding for police because of Watsonville’s sanctuary city status. City officials are reviewing the correspondence to formulate an appropriate response.
