A wildfire threatened the Del Monte Shopping Center in Monterey on Friday. At about 1 p.m. fire fighters responded to reports of a brush fire next to southbound Highway 1 near the Munras Avenue exit. At the scene fire crews were able to stop the blaze at the perimeter fence surrounding the shopping center. No damages or injuries were reported.
