A Santa Cruz County group found surprising numbers concerning distracted drivers. Volunteers from a group called Friday Night Live were sent to four different schools and reported 236 cases of distracted driving within one hour. The distractions were not limited to phone use as many reports were caused by a pet, child, or other tasks drawing the driver’s attention from the road.
