Hundreds of people experienced gas outages in Salinas, Prunedale, and other rural areas. P G and E is investigating the cause of the outages, and is urging customers not to re light their own pilot lights. The company stresses that residents should call for re-lighting services and wait for thye crews performing pressure and safety checks to perform the service.
