Monterey Fire Department evacuated a Cannery Row business Wednesday night. Fire Crews responded to reports of smoke at a restaurant, customers and staff were evacuated as a precaution, while fire fighters searched for the source of the smoke. After about 30 minutes a smoldering pile of flammable debris was located under the establishment. The incident is under investigation.
