(09:00) There is an ongoing investigation on phone scams in Santa Cruz County. The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office reported that the Perpetrator is calling victims using names of members within the Sheriff’s Office, in order to solicit money. The call consists of a request for funds by mentioning that a loved one has an outstanding warrant. The offender has previously asked for payment via a green dot card. The public is encouraged to report this scam by calling the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office AT 831-454-7600.
