The Santa Cruz Fire Department was able to control a home fire on Saturday. Shortly before 10 a.m. fire crews responded to reports of a blaze on the 100 block of Anderson Street. Upon arrival firefighters observed smoke and flames in the dwelling which was determined to be unoccupied. The fire was contained in about 15 minutes. The cause of the blaze was determined to be electrical. Damages are estimated at 150 thousand dollars.
