Through the Monterey police department there will be a new feature where crime reports can be reported online rather than directly to an enforcement officer. This program will start Tuesday and is a part of the reporting system Cop-Logic, and in the case of Monterey county, can be accessed through montereypolice.org. Reports that can be submitted are associated with insurance claims, and don’t include suspects or leads. The reports can include custody violations, vandalism, harassing phone calls, identity theft, lost property and vehicle thefts. A crime can still be reported directly to a law officer but this will free up time for officers to handle more cases.
