CCC Rules on Castroville Developement-7/16/17-1245-PMD

The California Coastal Commission upheld the original deed restrictions of the Moro Cojo development near Castroville. The low income development, which is comprised of 90 apartments and 175 single family homes, was constructed close to twenty years ago with deeds that stipulated the dwellings were permanently to be resold as low income housing. Recently, Monterey County Officials ruled the properties could be sold at full market value after twenty years. The decision was based on a lack of replacement affordable housing.
