June 15, 2017: Goodwill Central Coast

(11:40) A National Labor Relations Board judge has ordered Goodwill Central Coast to reinstate — with back pay — two forklift operators from Watsonville who were fired after they claimed a manager harassed them and threatened to kill one of them.  On may 17th A Judge concluded that Goodwill Central Coast violated the National Labor Relations Act by firing Martin Barrera and Jesus Fernandez after they engaged in protected “concerted activity” by complaining to their manager.   The judge ordered Goodwill to cease and desist from interfering with workers exercising their rights.   Goodwill Central Coast is required to reinstate – with back pay – from the time Barrera and Fernandez were fired in October 2015.  Goodwill was also required to read and post notices in English and Spanish informing workers about their right to organize and to complain about their supervisors without the risk of retaliation.
