(14:58) SALINAS-Salinas police have arrested two people in connection with a fatal hit and run. Shortly before 7 p.m. on Saturday a 61 year old male step into the roadway on North Main Street near China Town. The man was struck by a vehicle driven by 25 year old Rueben Martinez, who left the scene. The victim was pronounced dead a short time later. A driver who witnessed the incident followed Martinez to a parking lot where he exchanged positions with 26 year old Guadalupe Gonzales. Police stopped the vehicle nearby and arrested Martinez and Gonzales on multiple charges. No drugs or alcohol were involved and both drivers were properly licensed.
