May 19, 2017: Elm Fire

(10:35) – A grass fire burning in Fresno County has more than doubled in size overnight.   The fire began around 1:00 p.m. yesterday near Highway 198 and Alcalde Road.   According to Cal Fire Officials, the Elm Fire has now grown to 8,200 acres and is about 40 percent contained.  Residents in the Parkeville Grade Road area were evacuated last night.   An evacuation center has been set up at the West Hills Community College.  The fire has forced officials to close Highway 198 from Coalinga to the Monterey County line.   The cause of the fire is still under investigation
