(07:35) Monterey – A man is facing more than four years behind bars for a DUI collision that killed his passenger. The Monterey County District Attorney’s Office reported that on August 6, 2016, 23-year-old Rafael Rangel drank beer at his house before picking up his date, 18-year-old Dayazu Becerraric, in Salinas. As Rangel drove the two to Las Lomas for dinner, he continued to drink alcohol. Rangel misjudged a turn in the road and launched the vehicle off a bridge. Bercerraric died at the scene. Rangel had a blood alcohol level .11. He will be eligible for parole after serving 85 percent of his sentence.
