(06:45) Seaside – There has been a spike in car thefts in the Seaside area. Officers advise the community to take the following steps to avoid becoming a victim: Always lock your vehicle and make sure all windows are rolled up. Leave nothing of value in your car and do not leave personal items visible. Park in a busy well-lit area and do not leave important documents such as vehicle “pink slips”, driver licenses social security cards and legal papers in your vehicle as they can be used for fraud and identity theft.
