Murderer Denied Parole-4/30/17-1531-PMD

(16:39) SANTA CRUZ- The Santa Cruz County District Attorney’s Office has announced that an inmate convicted of an 1989 murder was denied parole. On April 25th, The parole board denied Lance Christopher Badgett’s request for parole for his role in the murder of Michael Palmer. In February 1989 Palmer’s severed head, hands and feet were found on the beach at Greyhound Rock in Santa Cruz County. Five days later, a dismembered torso was discovered about 40 miles away from the first sighting. Lance and John Badgett were convicted of killing Palmer to keep him from possibly disclosing their whereabouts to police. Badgett will be eligible for parole again in 2022.
