(1911) SOLEDAD- Soledad is joining other Central Coast cities supporting sanctuary status. Earlier this week the city council voted 5 to zero in favor of not enforcing any of the federal immigration laws. Soledad has a population made up of about 80 percent Mexican-Americans, as well as a history of European immigrant settlers. At this time it is unclear if the city will lose any federal funding due to the vote.
