(10:40) Monterey – A jury trial for Former Monterey Peninsula Unified School District Superintendent, against the city of Monterey began yesterday. Former MPUSD Superintendent Marilyn Shepherd filed a lawsuit in 2015 after she fell in a pothole. Shepherd said she broke her left ankle and sprained her right one while she was on Webster Street. Shepard has been in negotiations with Monterey representatives for months and is seeking $800,000 in damages. The trial is expected to last at least a week.
