(11:15) Santa Cruz – The City of Santa Cruz Public Works Department and Roaring Camp Railroads has contracted with H&H Engineering Construction Inc. to upgrade the railroad crossing on Fern Street in Santa Cruz. Fern Street will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the project from River Street/Highway 9 to Limekiln Street. Project work includes removing the track, ballast and ties, and installation of concrete crossing panels and new asphalt. Construction is planned to begin on Monday, March 27, and continue through Friday, March 31. Encinal and Coral streets are available alternate routes to access the Harvey West area and Highway 9.
