(10:15) Monterey County - The Salinas City Council will hold its first vote on whether to join Monterey Bay Community Power (MBCP) at tomorrow nights meeting.   MBCP, a Community Choice Energy (CCE) program, aims to increase renewable energy use by purchasing renewably sourced power and distributing “clean energy” through the existing power grid.  Profits are distributed back into the communities rather than benefiting the shareholders of privately held utility companies like PG&E.  The counties of San Benito and Santa Cruz have voted twice to participate, and tomorrow will mark the second vote for Monterey County. The meeting will be tomorrow at 4:00  at the Salinas City Hall, located at 200 Lincoln Avenue.
