(06:15) Capitola – Capitola Police are investigating a murder/suicide that took place at the Capitola Mall yesterday. Police received a call around 3:15 from a woman stating that her husband was possibly attempting suicide, in the parking lot of the mall, and that he had their 8 year-old daughter with him. Responding officers were directed to the family’s vehicle that was located on the Westside of the mall, near Macy’s. Inside the vehicle, officers found two subjects suffering from gunshot wounds, an 8 year-old girl and a 36 year-old man. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is being handled as a murder/suicide with the adult male as the murder suspect. Anyone with information is encouraged contact the Capitola Police Department at 831-471-1141.
