February 28, 2017: Salinas Police Department Swears In Recruiter

(07:40) Salinas – The Salinas Police Department is actively looking for new officers.  The department currently has 136 sworn in officers but are authorized to have 172.   To help fill the 36 open positions Chief Adele Frese swore in Officer Todd Kessler yesterday, as the department’s new recruiter.  Officer Kessler is looking for new officers at job fairs, military centers, and colleges across the state.   For officers transferring from other departments, there’s a $20,000 signing bonus. Officer Kessler’s office is based in city hall, available to answer questions. People can also call the hotline, 831-235-1408.
