(08:40) Santa Cruz – The UCSC campus police reported that due to the strike that is taking place today, traffic is backed up in both entrances to the campus. A spokesperson for the Teamsters Local 2010 says that administrative, clerical, and other support positions are striking due to being underpaid. 70 percent of staff members suffer from hunger or food insecurity, and wages have decreased by 24 percent over the last 18 years. UCSC officials say the strike will not effect classes.
