P,G & E Repairs in SC-12/8/16-1828-PMD

(18:28)SANTA CRUZ – The City of Santa Cruz has confirmed that Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) is currently performing emergency repair work on Soquel Avenue in Santa Cruz between Park Way and 7th Avenue. Repairs are expected to be completed by Tuesday, December 13. Given traffic impacts, drivers are advised to expect delays. According to PG&E, on Wednesday, Nov. 30, a third-party contractor was digging on Soquel Avenue when he struck underground electrical equipment, knocking out power to thousands of customers. While PG&E was able to restore power to customers, emergency repair work is needed to restore the underground electric system in the area.

During construction, travelers can expect to encounter crews digging trenches and performing construction activities, trucks and equipment staged in the work area, parking restrictions in work zones and traffic impacts with traffic control onsite.

Any questions or concerns may be directed to PG&E at 1-800-743-5000.
