November 30, 2016: Two New Fire Engines

(10:20) Watsonville – The Watsonville City Council voted in favor to purchase two new custom-built fire engines at last nights meeting.  The city staff proposed four new locations for the substation: The former site of Watsonville Farm Supply, Franich Park, Fowle Reservoir and Joyce Street Park.  Out of the four options Franich Park (which is located on the corner of Menasco Drive and Vista Montana Drive) would cost the least and could provide a permanent solution for the substation.   However, the location is next to the Ann Soldo Elementary school AND THERE is concern parents would oppose the substation.   The city staff will continue to explore other sites.
